Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting with examinations, administering medications, performing laboratory tests, and providing general support to the veterinary team. Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, and other procedures
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Perform laboratory tests such as bloodwork and urinalysis
- Prepare animals for surgery and monitor their vital signs during procedures
- Provide post-operative care and monitor recovery progress
- Maintain accurate medical records for each patient
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and answer their questions or concerns
- Clean and maintain equipment, exam rooms, and kennels
- Handle animals with care and ensure their comfort and safety
- Assist with animal restraint when necessary
Requirements:
- Certified Veterinary Technician or equivalent experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of animal physiology, care, and restraint techniques
- Proficient in performing laboratory tests and interpreting results
- Experience with aseptic technique and maintaining sterile environments
- Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments safely
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate pet owners effectively
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Compassionate nature with a genuine love for animals
